Idea • 2 • END?

My main idea for this brief will be in 3 (+1) parts. The '+1' is more like the props needed in order for it to work. The 'main idea' would be to produce 'safety procedure' cards, double sided and laminated, for someone that will be going through the stage of panic, knowing they have 24hours left before 'the end', yet this person will not know what happens after the last second strikes. A procedure explained in icons and simplified images, just like a plane safety procedure card. They would be visually presented, and have minimal text so that the person can follow it easily.

Part 2 would be a short animation, just like Richard Fenwicks Animation called 'Safety Procedures', where they would sit and watch while having a hard copy and also a motion version to guide them through. I have done this for two reason, the first being that some planes do have flip-down screens showing a video version of the card, so they can follow, and the second reason is to involve the viewer with the exhibition, as though they are going through this difficult stage. The video will guide you through the card, but also include flashbacks, memories, and also what emotions you may feel at the particular time.

Part 3 is a projection over the viewer when the exhibition takes place. These are either emotions, or feelings that the viewer will experience if they were in that situation, i.e. either white noise if he blacks out, something for memory loss, flashbacks would be strobe lighting for a few seconds, and a sepia, static grainy projection when the viewer is looking back at memories. Each emotion would have its own colour to get the viewer into that mood, so that they can expereince the pain, fear, anger, loss and happy feelings when looking back at his/her memories.

Part +1 is the props; this would either be exaggerated by having aeroplane seating, or some form of seating that allows to get the viewer glued to the production. Or a simpler way of just getting a double sofa with a magazine rack in front of it to hold the 'safety procedure cards'.

(Memories maybe shown like Chris Milks short film, Last Day Dream.)
